DOST-PTRI GOES TO 2024 RSTW CARAGA

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) mounted a KatHABI Textile Innovation Exhibition as part of the 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) in Caraga (Region XIII) organized by DOST Caraga.
Under the theme “Innovate for Impact: Transforming Caraga’s Fishery, Agroforestry, Mining, and Ecotourism Economy through Science, Technology, and Innovation” this exhibition runs from June 6 to 9, 2024, at the Robinsons Butuan North Atrium, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
As various textile fiber-yielding plants abound in CARAGA, DOST-PTRI showcased abaca, bamboo, and banana textile technologies were highlighted. Further, Philippine silk was also featured.
