This program will establish science and technology innovation of green materials for textile application. It will optimize the use of enzymes from natural materials abundantly available in the Philippines to be used for the pretreatment of natural fiber. Continuous R&D work on the pretreatment of different natural fibers available in the country will boost not just the availability of fibers for textile processing but in empowering communities and farmers to process their fibers and not just sell raw materials or discard by-products which may still be transformed into an input material.
