PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL TESTING AND EVALUATION OF FIBER, YARN, FABRIC AND ALLIED PRODUCTS
PTRI laboratories are equipped with sophisticated testing equipment manned by competent staff capable of undertaking different physical and chemical tests to determine levels of quality of fibers, yarns, fabrics, garments and allied products including dyes, chemicals, and auxiliaries used in textile production.

TEXTILE PROCESSING
Processing evaluation for the optimum utilization of textile raw materials such as the continuous dyeing of blends of cotton/polyester fabrics; processability of locally available fiber by the local spinning system; and fabric manufacturing through handloom weaving are being done at the Institute's pilot plant. MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT AND SKILLS TRAINING
Cognizant of the Industry's lack in skilled manpower, PTRI has established a system of providing technical training to the textile industry sector and allied cottage, small and medium-scale industries, entrepreneurs and the unemployed that will ensure reliable and efficient work performance, production and increase employment. INFORMATION AND LIBRARY
The Institute provides documentation and information dissemination services to textile millers, researchers, scientists, technologists, students, entrepreneurs and the general public. It has a library that contains a sizeable number of basic references, books, foreign and local journals, periodicals and ephemeral literature materials on textiles and related subjects.
