The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) convenes the Philippine Silk Summit 2020 on 30-31 January 2020 as part of the activities of the Philippine Tropical Fabric month celebration.
DOST - PTRI will present updates on the Philippine Silk Road Program as the Silk Summit brings together various stakeholders along the supply and value chains. Presentations and talks will be featured from resource speakers from the International Sericultural Commission (ISC), Lao PDR’s Mulberries, University of the Philippines- Philippine Genome Center, Sericulture Research and Development Institute-Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (SRDI-DMMMSU) and DOST-PTRI. The Summit aims to consolidate efforts in the Philippines silk R&D, innovation and commercialization, as it spurs rural technoprenuership and the development of an inclusive creative textile-based economy.
