As HARVEST gradually grows into a community of weavers, this training will boost their livelihood and ensure the important cultural art form continues to thrive.

The five-day training took place from March 4-8, 2024, at HARVEST Creative CommUNITY Hub in Baguio City.

The DOST-PTRI Team, provided the participants with the basics of handloom weaving. The training was supported by the City Tourism Office and the Local Government Unit of Baguio-City Social Welfare and Development Office. This training will open more opportunities as they become a community of well-known weavers, the home of Cordillera Weaves in the City of Baguio. This would also ensure the development and adoption of natural and local fibers in their livelihood programs through handloom weaving.

In line with its mandates, DOST-PTRI continues to support the Philippine textile and garment industry, particularly micro, small, and medium companies (MSMEs), while maintaining the quality of technological training services offered to them.
