Philippine Tropical Fabrics (PTF) were featured at Erlendur Iceland Fashion Week 2024, held on September 20-21 at the Whales of Iceland Museum in Reykjavik, Iceland. Among the designers showcased was Mayeth S. Codoy, a Filipina and owner of MYET, a Norwegian-based fashion brand recognized for its use of natural textile fibers and dedication to sustainability.

Codoy's collection included fabrics made from bamboo with water-repellent technology, as well as banana, abaca, and pineapple fibers. The collection highlighted the versatility and potential of these Philippine materials in contemporary fashion.

Moreover, Codoy's designs draw on both her Filipino heritage and Norwegian influences, focusing on sustainability and economic value. Her minimalist, contemporary style reflects the growing demand for environmentally responsible fashion in the global industry.

The Erlendur Iceland Fashion Week is known for featuring innovative, eco-friendly designs, and Codoy’s collection offered a glimpse of how traditional fibers can be adapted for modern, high-fashion use. The exhibition of Philippine Tropical Fabrics at the event highlights their potential for broader use in international fashion.
