April 2016 - The Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) for the first time trains the Waldorf International School (WIS) Faculty Members as the school vacation treads to an end.

Ms. Marjorte Acilo (Basic Handloom Weaving) trained with PTRI's Resident Weaver, Ms. Josefa Garlitos. She, along with Ms. Jeralyn Liwanag was sponsored by their WIS Administration to prepare for the coming school year. They will be teaching the same skills to their Grade School students on June.

"Now I know the story of the humble abaca and the proud silk. My students will be more patient and creative soon. The picking of threads through the heddles had the biggest impact to me. My patience was tested on a higher level"- Ms. Marjorie Acilo (Faculty member) Waldorf International School
