The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), led by its Director, Dr. Julius L. Leaño, Jr., welcomed a delegation from the Export Development Council-Networking Committee on Education and Human Resources Development (EDC-NCEHRD) on September 30, 2024, to explore potential research and development collaborations with DOST and its attached agencies, including DOST-PTRI.  

The EDC-NCEHRD delegation toured the facilities, including the TELA Gallery: Textile Design and Innovation Hub, where they were introduced to the Institute's latest innovations. They also visited the Institute's testing laboratories, which are dedicated to research and quality assessments of textile materials. 

NCEHRD is a specialized committee under the Export Development Council (EDC) that focuses on strengthening the country's human capital to support export growth. It works to align education and training programs with the needs of the export industry, ensuring a skilled workforce that can contribute to national competitiveness in the global market.
