The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) recently hosted an exploratory meeting on textile and cultural diplomacy at the TELA Gallery in Bicutan, Taguig City.

The event welcomed Nonito Cabrera Jr., Third Secretary/Vice Consul from the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Moscow, as part of discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation agreement with Russia, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.  

During the meeting, DOST-PTRI showcased its KatHabi exhibit and demonstrated its weaving and natural dyeing workshops. Cabrera expressed interest in exploring future collaborations, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchanges in deepening the relationship between Philippines and Russia.
