In the home of Yakan weavers and Tennun fabrics, the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) participated in the opening of the 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) in the Zamboanga Peninsula (Region IX), organized by DOST Region IX. The event, held from November 20 to 22, 2024, at the Juanito Bruno Gymnasium of Western Mindanao State University in Baliwasan, Zamboanga City, featured the KatHABI Textile Innovation Exhibition, showcasing the Institute's latest textile advancements.

DOST-PTRI Testing Laboratories Receives its Renewal Accreditation on ISO/IEC 17025:2017

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) Testing Laboratories has successfully been recommended for sustained accreditation under PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2017. This follows a Laboratory Management System (LMS) Surveillance Audit and Special Assessment conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry - Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) from November 13 to 15, 2024. The accreditation covers the fields of chemical and mechanical testing.

Held at the Ballroom Foyer of Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City, the event celebrated the fusion of artistry and innovation in the country’s textile and fashion industry.
