In a significant stride toward sustainable textile innovation and regional development, the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) and DOST Region XI to establish the Natural Textile Fiber Innovation Hub (NTFIH) in Davao del Norte. The collaboration was formalized during the 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) held at Abreeza Mall, Davao City, Davao del Sur on November 11, 2024.

Legarda, the session invited international experts, scholars, and industry leaders to explore the intersection of cultural preservation, sustainable practices, and the growing potential of Philippine textiles in global markets.
