April 2016 - The Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) conducted the Earthquake Drill for PTRI employees and officials unannounced, from the DOST Main Office. As part of the simultaneous Earthquake Drill in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Drill was led by PTRI - FAD Chief, Ms. Cora L. Tapulgo.

May 2016 - The Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) partnered with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to tone perspectives on civil service professionalism with the Revised Rules and Regulations for government employees.

Director Dick N. Echavez of the CSC - Taguig Field Office conducted the seminar focusing on topics like Administrative, Recruitment and Security of Tenure. He cascaded in particular the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, Rules on Leave Administration and Compensatory Time- Off (CTO).

The PTRI RDD Science Research Specialists hit the AM stations with the PTRI Researches on Natural Dyes, Natural Fabrics and Water Hyacinth.
Last December 2015, Ms. Jeannie Cabansag, Engr.
