Quezon City – The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) received the 2019 DOST International Publication Award (IPA) as Dr. Julius L. Leaño, Jr., Research and Development Division’s (RDD) Chief Science Research Specialist, garnered seven (7) of the recognition from the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL) on December 10, 2019 at the Eastwood Richmonde HotelThe Journal Impact Factor (JIF) is a gauge of the quality of papers published. The higher the JIF, the more cited and prestigious the journals are, which connotes more stringent standards of quality and novelty in the published works.
The DOST Intellectual Property Awards aims to provide incentives to DOST researchers and institutions for international publication and granted patents and utility models. This is a partnership of DOST and NAST PHL since 2013 for the DOST IPA and DOST Granted Patent and Utility Model Awards. The 2019 Awards Committee is chaired by National Scientist Lourdes J. Cruz.
DOST IPA is given annually to DOST scientists and researchers who publish their research outputs in Clarivate Analytics or Scopus in the last three (3) years with Php 60,000.00 per paper as incentive.
