The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) concluded a successful participation and poster presentation at the 2nd Iloilo International Conference on Advanced Natural Products Technologies (I2CANProTech) and AuRIns-USA Bilateral Conference, held from March 05 - 08 March, 2024, at the University of San Agustin, Iloilo City. The theme for this year's Conference is "Omics Odyssey: Translating Natural Product Discoveries into Technologies for Better Health Outcomes," which highlights the role of Omics techniques in natural product technological innovations. The event drew 270 local and international attendees from a variety of stakeholders, including academia, business, and government agencies, as well as global leading experts in the natural product field. 

The Institute also highlighted its Natural Dyes and Colorants R&D Initiative entitled “Enhanced Production of Natural Red Pigment from Serratia marcescens ATCC 14041 for Silk Textile Dyeing” during its Scientific Poster event and was awarded as Best Poster Presentation (Professional) under the category of Enabling Technologies for Food and Natural Products given last 08 March 2024.
