KATHABI FASHION INNOVATION SHOW STAGED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN CARAGA

As part of the 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) in Caraga, the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), staged the KatHABI Fashion Innovation Show, for the first time at the Robinsons Butuan North Atrium, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
The event showcased innovations in textiles and wearables, particularly those made from Philippine Tropical Fabrics. It featured collections from Albert Andrada Luxewear, Hiraya Lizan, Nina Inabel, Unica Hija by BAYO, AIRE, Likhang Maragondon, Edited Limited, and the Davao Fashion Design Council Foundation, Inc.
Additionally, a ceremonial signing between DOST-PTRI, LGU Buenavista, and Kapunan sa mga Mag-uuma sa Maguuma was held, solidifying their commitment to further develop and promote the innovative technology system for eco-friendly bamboo fiber processing, paving the way for sustainable and environmentally conscious textile production in the region
