Marking the Future: DOST-PTRI’s Trademarked logos 💡

In observance of Intellectual Property Month, we highlight the value of marks in protecting creativity and identity. As stated in RA 8293, Section 121.1, a mark refers to any visible sign that helps recognize a product or service in the market. This includes logos, packaging, or any symbol linked to a brand, forming the legal basis for trademark protection in the Philippines.

At DOST-PTRI, we recognize the power of these marks not just as legal tools, but as symbols of authenticity, innovation, and Filipino pride. By trademarking our logos, we safeguard our identity, prevent misuse, and champion local textile technologies on the global stage.

As an example of the trademark logos developed by DOST-PTRI, we’re showcasing the B (Bamboo logo), which symbolizes the use of bamboo in innovative textile applications and highlights the integration of natural, sustainable materials in local fabric development.

Each mark is more than just a logo—it represents sustainable solutions, creative excellence, and circular innovations rooted in Filipino culture.
