The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) recently had the privilege of co-organizing its KatHABI Exhibit with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). The exhibit not only showcased progress in Philippine Tropical Fabrics, Bamboo-based Textiles, Pineapple-based Textiles, and Natural Dyes but also highlighted the fruitful collaborations between DOST-PTRI and various government entities.

DOST Makes Cagayan de Oro the Host of the 5th Philippine Silk Summit

The DOST-PTRI organized a Fashion Innovation Event entitled "𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐇𝐀𝐁𝐈: 𝐏𝐓𝐅'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝" during the National Textile Convention Stakeholders' Night on January 30, 2024, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City. DOST-PTRI Launches Two Key Partnerships on the First Day of 2024 National Textile Convention

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) marked the inaugural day of the 1st National Textile Convention (TELACon) with the launch of two groundbreaking partnerships, reinforcing their commitment to advancing Philippine textile education and innovation at the Jose Rizal Hall, Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City on January 30, 2024.
The first partnership marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DOST-PTRI and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Inc. (DLS-CSB), solidifying their commitment to textile education and research. This partnership forms part of the establishment of the Textile Academy, a hub for textile knowledge exchange. The academy aims to develop textile S&T human resources through skills training programs, workshops, research initiatives, and professional development, fostering expertise in textile technology, design, and sustainable practices.
