As part of the Wealth Creation cluster, weavers from the Hanunuo Mangyan and Buhid Mangyan—both previously trained in handloom weaving courses by the Institute—exhibited their traditional handwoven fabric known as Ramit.

In addition, DOST-PTRI showcased the 20-inch table loom developed by the Institute; silk-blended wearable by BAYO; bamboo textile products from Lakat and Adante Leyesa; shoes made of Philippine Tropical Fabrics in collaboration with Zapateria, Lakat, Maco Custodio, and Aishe Footwear; upcycled yarn and pillow under the Institute’s TexRev Program; and natural textile fibers such as abaca, banana, and pineapple that are abundant in the region.

Moreover, the DOST-PTRI highlighted the natural dye products from indigo leaves, talisay leaves, mahogany barks, and coconut husk. The Institute has a NatDyes Hub in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.

Government agencies showed interest in using Philippine Tropical Fabrics for uniforms, while TBIs and universities sought training, research, and collaboration with DOST-PTRI on natural dyeing, fiber extraction, and textile innovation.

The exhibit is open to the public from May 28-30, 2025.
