SGS Gulf Limited – Regional Operating Headquarters, a business processing outsource provider for the SGS Group a Geneva-based risk management and quality assurance service provider, seeks out PTRI’s expertise on textile manufacturing and textile quality assurance.
Two batches of SGS Gulf Limited-ROHQ employees and representatives from the Textile Enthusiasts and Leather Aficionado Association Group (TELA) visited PTRI’s Pilot Plant and its chemical and physical laboratories on June 4 and 18, 2014.
SGS Gulf Limited-ROHQ has chosen PTRI for a visit because of the Institute’s significant role as the premier textile arm of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), having state-of-the-art service facilities for the Textile and Garments Sectors, as well as the BPO or business process in-sourcing sectors such as their company.
This activity provided them an opportunity for knowledge upgrade through observation of the actual processes involved in textile production and quality assurance (spinning, weaving/knitting, dyeing/finishing, chemical and physical testing, and quality evaluation). This also helped equip them with the additional knowledge in relation to their skills to carry out tasks on textile products conformity assessment and classification.
