TAGUIG CITY – Collaborating for the common goal of commercializing natural dye production for textile application, the Natural Craft Connection Enterprise (NCCE) recently inked a Memorandum of Agreement to work in partnership with the Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) for the establishment of the NatDyes production and dyeing facility in Bauan, Batangas.

Throughout the years, the PTRI has been a constant advocate for the production and application of natural dyes especially for textile-related consumption. As the primary research and development institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), PTRI ensures the unceasing development and viable supply of natural dyestuff while adhering to the premier quality standards and sustainability in production and upkeep the MSME’s towards global competitiveness.

With this in mind, PTRI applauds the initiative of the NCCE to be competitive while pushing for Filipino products and natural materials. Together, the envisioned NatDye hub will become the producer of natural dyestuff, natural dyed abaca-based products and seller of natural dyed yarns and fabric to support the local textile industry for the development of new line of naturally dyed products. In addition, the facility aims to enhance and upgrade the aesthetics and marketability of abaca-based home furnishings as produced by the company itself.

The NatDyes production and dyeing facility, which will be established on the second quarter of 2018, will be an avenue for the MSME’s like NCCE to enter the global niche market of growing conscious consumers demanding for naturally dyed products that are eco-friendly by producing and utilizing dyestuff and dyed textile materials. The facility will also secure partnership with the PTRI-established NatDyes production hubs in Abra, Mindoro and South Cotabato to ensure that the dye-yielding plants will be of enough quantity to support the facility’s full operation.
