15 Ilocanos Trained by DOST-PTRI on Reactive Dyeing of Cellulosic Fibers
15 participants from the Suyo Multi-Purpose Cooperative took part in the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) training on Reactive Dyeing of Cellulosic Fibers, held at the Ilocos Fiber Experiment Station (Cotton Processing Center) in Labnig, San Juan, Ilocos Sur.

The training aims to equip local weavers and cooperative members with skills and knowledge in fabric dyeing techniques, focusing on the use of reactive dyes for cellulosic fibers. This also aims to strengthen the craftsmanship of the weavers and enhance the overall quality and competitiveness of their woven products.
For the participants, the training served as an opportunity to gain knowledge and techniques in dyeing cotton yarns which they can apply to improve their craft and expand their product offerings.
The training was initiated upon the request of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Ilocos Sur Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Suyo Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
