The Textile Product Development Center (TPDC) technologies are part of the Institute's initiative to translate developed textile material solutions by creating relevant products through an integrated product development system while promoting sustainability and circularity which is a response to the challenge of the textile and garments industry towards Industry 4.0.
3D BODY SCANNING Description: Touchless 3D-imaging that provides timely and accurate results of the measurement of the human body. This equipment could be used in generating data for use in anthropometry, ergonomics, medicine and lifestyle Capacity: 14 scanning per day (max of 24) |
DIGITAL PATTERN MAKING Description: CAD generation of garment patterns that could be easily altered and stored in a digital database. Less waste because there is no need for paper. This system could be used developed a database of 2D CAD garment patterns for garment production or academic reference Capacity: depends on the request of the client (with minimum supervision from the TPDC staff) |
3D VISUALIZATION Description: Provides easy visualization of fit and customization of styles. (Traditional: repetitive construction of garment due to incorrect fit hence fabric waste is excessive. Retailers/Designers could take advantage of the platform for its virtual/online capability. Capacity: depends on the request of the client (with minimum supervision from the TPDC staff) |
DIGITAL PLOTTING Description: Provides accurate result of printed pattern based on the CAD Design. The machine develops an actual scale of a garment in a piece of paper for academic reference or serve as a guide in cutting of fabric. Capacity: 20 plotting per day (max of 32) |
DIGITAL CUTTING Description: Optimized digital cutting system that provides high accuracy in cutting and efficiency of cut parts. Minimizing fabric waste and time to finish the task. It could cut different fabrics and materials ranging from cotton, PE, lycra, nylon, jeans, blended fabrics, rubber, etc. Capacity: 26 cutting per day (max of 48) |
