Consul General Mangalile mentioned that since last year, the Philippine Consulate has spearheaded the Philippine Fiber and Textile Promotion Program, a multi-year and multi-faceted initiative to advance the development of the Philippines' fiber and textile industries. DOST-PTRI Director Dr. Julius Leaño, Jr., said that this was an opportunity to speak about the many stories and experiences of the DOST-PTRI, extolling the defining and pivotal role of science, technology, and innovation in the context of our rich textile heritage, and our relationships with our weavers and communities.
