3 Chemists, 4 Chemical Technicians Complete Textile Testing Training at DOST-PTRI
7 professionals from Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), University of the Philippines -Diliman, and various private companies attended the Batch 3 of the Fundamentals of Textile Testing and Evaluation – Apparel course held by the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI). They advanced their professional careers by earning 12 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units from this training.

The Fundamentals of Textile Testing and Evaluation for Apparel is a training program under the DOST-PTRI Textile Academy Program. This course supports professional development and, in the case of BPSU, enhances instructors' teaching practices.
By providing an avenue to expose educators to practical skills and knowledge in textile testing, the Textile Academy strengthens the textile sector in terms of academic advancement towards industry workforce readiness.
With combined discussions, demonstration and hands-on training in the PTRI Testing Laboratories, the course provided basic knowledge of the principles and methods used to evaluate textiles in terms of their characteristics, performance and quality. The professionals who attended the training acquired basic knowledge of fundamental techniques in textile testing, including familiarization with the equipment, standard methods and analysis of test results.
