DOST-PTRI, PSTO Bulacan, and ReZtyle Seek Collaboration for Textile Innovation in Bulacan
The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) hosted an exploratory meeting on natural dyes and handloom weaving, together with the Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) Bulacan and ReZtyle / Tela Cycle Enterprises.

ReZtyle, a brand known for transforming textile waste into unique, eco-conscious fashion and accessories, played a central role in the discussions. The meeting focused on the use of natural dyes derived from local plant materials and the integration of Natural Textile Fiber (NTF) yarns into traditional handloom weaving. Participants shared insights on sustainable dyeing technologies and how these innovations could enhance the quality and marketability of products made from upcycled textiles and by local weavers.
This collaboration aimed to introduce eco-friendly practices that complement traditional techniques, with the goal of supporting the weaving communities in Pulilan, Bulacan. By promoting innovation and sustainability, the meeting envisions to strengthen the local weaving industry and promote long-term growth.
