RYPIC Stakeholders' Meeting Envisions a Stronger Textile Innovation Ecosystem in Region XII

Stakeholders of the Regional Yarn Production and Innovation Center (RYPIC) gathered at the East Asia Royale Hotel in General Santos City, on March 28, 2025, to discuss the future of the textile innovation ecosystem in Region XII.

Representatives from a variety of organizations participated in the meeting, including the Department of Science and Technology - Region XII (DOST XII), Sultan Kudarat State University, University of Southern Mindanao, Kalyak Blaan Care Group, Kenhulung Handicrafts Federations, Inc., Klowil Kem Libong Ong, Inc., PhilIFIDA - Regional Office XI and PSR Coalition of Social Development.  

The meeting highlighted updates on RYPIC’s progress so far, including recent advancements in local fiber and textile innovations. One of the major discussions focused on how to sustain and improve the region’s textile facilities, including the role of the National Textile Fiber Industry Hub (NTFIH). 

Participants also reviewed ongoing programs to boost textile quality and productivity, with plans for further collaboration to ensure sustainable practices moving forward. The meeting concluded with each stakeholder’s commitment to fostering a strong and sustainable textile innovation ecosystem in Region XII.
