Treading New Paths in Medical Textile Science Through Establishing Connection with Adamson University
The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) recently held an Innovation Dialogue with Adamson University, bringing together faculty members from the Chemistry and Biology Departments to explore ways to collaborate in research, education, and innovation.

The discussions included support for introducing a dedicated Textile Science course under the Chemistry Department, student immersion programs with hands-on sessions at PTRI, and faculty exchange or training initiatives between both institutions.
Discussed were also the possible joint research projects, especially in pre-clinical studies and protocol development. Topics covered included steps for effective collaboration, such as proposal submission and ethical clearances, joint development of short-term academic programs, offering scholarship opportunities, and exchanging expert speakers for seminars and research events.
Looking ahead, there are plans to involve students and faculty from the Joint Research Undertaking (JRU) program this coming June to July.
Together, we’re weaving science and innovation into the future of biomedical textiles.
