PTRI BRINGS ‘TELA’ TO THE 2017 RSTW ILOILO

ILOILO CITY, ILOILO, REGION VI – The Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) brings its programs and initiatives to the Iloilo leg of the 2017 Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) under the Support to Industry and MSMEs exhibit cluster. Specifically, the Institute opens its premier spinning and finishing facility – the Innovation Center for Yarns and Textiles (ICYT) through a virtual reality (VR) tour. In a nutshell, the ICYT seeks to bridge the gap between agricultural inputs and end-users of textile products, and encourage potential textile developments across the Country.

Carrying this year’s theme “Science for the People”, exciting activities are lined up featuring DOST’s programs and services, including Tek-Tienda MSME Product Fair, S&T Exhibits, Regional SETUP Summit, Technology Fora, and the highly anticipated 2017 Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE).

The 2017 RSTW Iloilo highlights science and technology advocacies in the countryside, and is open to the public from August 29 – 31, 2017 at the SM City Iloilo.
