The Institute also showcased other ongoing projects involving nonwoven fabrics, cotton yarns, and Philippine silk which can be used to make innovative, eco-friendly shoes. Its participation highlights the institute’s continued efforts to support local industries by providing science-based, sustainable solutions.

The iHub-MEC, a five-story facility in Marikina City, was launched by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the National Development Company (NDC). It aims to support startups and small businesses by giving them access to tools, knowledge, and programs that encourage innovation. This project is part of the government’s wider push to build a stronger business environment through important laws like the Innovative Startup Act and the Philippine Creative Industries Act.
