During the Handa Pilipinas: Mindano Leg, the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) highlighted its latest advancements in Geotextiles, Medical Textiles, and Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) technologies held at the KCC Convention Center in General Santos City on October 2, 2024. This follows similar events held for Luzon and Visayas, showcasing the Institute's commitment to promoting innovative textile solutions nationwide. 

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) opened its KatHABI Textile Innovation Exhibition at the Veranza Activity Center, General Santos City, South Cotabato on October 2, 2024, as part of the 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) in SOCCSKSARGEN. This exhibition showcases the Institute's innovative contributions to the local textile industry in the Region. 

Sophomore and junior Bachelor of Science in Textile and Fashion Technology students from Central Luzon State University (CLSU) conducted a facility tour at the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) on October 2, 2024. The visit aimed to provide students with firsthand experience and insights into textile testing equipment and fiber-to-fabric processing. 

The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), led by its Director, Dr. Julius L. Leaño, Jr., welcomed a delegation from the Export Development Council-Networking Committee on Education and Human Resources Development (EDC-NCEHRD) on September 30, 2024, to explore potential research and development collaborations with DOST and its attached agencies, including DOST-PTRI.
