The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) organized a 3rd Philippine Handloom Weaving Conference (PHWC) - Regional Weaver's Forum in Ilocos Region as part of the 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation (RSTW) Region 1 held at Paoay Lake JLP Resort and Hotel, Paoay, Ilocos Norte on July 5, 2024. 

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) presented its pioneering Geotextile Testing Center during the Panagsagana: Technology Forum on Disaster Preparedness, as part of the 2024 Handa Pilipinas Luzon Leg, held at Plaza del Norte, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on July 4, 2024. 

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), together with The Hinabi Project representatives, and Senate - Legislative Budget Research and Monitoring Office (LBRMO) staff conducted a research visit to the Field Museum in Chicago, USA, on July 1-2, 2024. The primary focus of the visit was to examine and study Philippine textiles collected from 1904 to 1912. 

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) showcased its latest innovations in Geotextiles and Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) technologies at the opening ceremony of the Handa Pilipinas Luzon Leg: Innovations in Climate and Disaster Resilience held at Plaza del Norte in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on July 3, 2024.
