PTRI’s very own weaver, Ms. Teresita Valencia from the Technical Services Division, showcased her weaving skills in an interactive exhibit organized by The Learning Tree, a private primary school in Quezon City. Entitled ‘Dayo Tayo sa Lalawigan’, the exhibit aimed to highlight the beauty and richness of the culture in the provinces. The event was participated in by the school’s students, parents and other guests. Ms. Valencia brought one of the Institute’s jack-type handlooms and showed the process of weaving yarns into fabric. Through activities like this, PTRI is able to share with the general public the science and art of weaving.
