Sixty members of the Association of Barangay Kagawads on Agriculture of Baybay City (ABAKA) recently conducted a benchmarking visit to the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST–PTRI) Silk Research and Innovation Center (SRIC) in Misamis Oriental as part of their ABAKA Development Activity.

The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) joined the celebration of the 29th Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition, also known as WORLDBEX 2026, held at the SMX Convention Center, World Trade Center in Pasay City from March 12 to 15, 2026. During the exhibition, the institute showcased its innovative technologies, particularly products that utilize Natural Textile Fibers (NTFs) and agricultural by-products for construction, building, and indoor installations. These innovations open pathways for potential collaborations and partnerships that further advance the institute’s goal of championing Telang Pinoy.

The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) took part in the ASEAN Knowledge Exchange on Regenerative Entrepreneurship for Mindanao and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) held on March 13, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City.

Eleven students from iACADEMY in Makati City participated in a learning visit to the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) on March 19, 2026, expanding their understanding of the intricate processes and innovations in textile science.
