With a mission to showcase Philippine textiles and highlight Filipino-made attire on the national and international pageant stage, six (6) Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) candidates, along with the Miss Universe Philippines Digital and Creatives Team and the Philippine Fashion Coalition (PFC), visited the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) on May 3, 2024. 

As part of the 2024 National Intellectual Property Month (NIPM) with the theme, 'IP and the SDGs: Building our common future with innovation and creativity,' the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) participated by mounting an exhibition for the 2024 Gawad Yamang Isip (GYI) Awards Night, organized by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City on April 29, 2024. 

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) organized a Regional Weaver's Forum as part of the 3rd Philippine Handloom Weaving Conference (PHWC) during the celebration of the 25th Aklan Piña and Fiber Festival held at Marzon Hotel, Kalibo, Aklan on April 26, 2024. 

April 25 marked the kickoff of the DOST-PTRI Piña Textile Innovation Exposition in Kalibo, Aklan, as part of the 25th Aklan Piña and Fiber Festival celebrations. Running from April 25-28, 2024, the exposition showcases advancements in pineapple fiber textiles.
