DOST-PTRI WELCOMES RETURNED OFWS TO EXPLORE TECHNOLOGY-BASED BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH IFWD PH PROGRAM

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) supports the DOST's Innovations for Filipinos Working Distantly from the Philippines (iFWD PH Program) by welcoming returned Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) as visitors to introduce them to the programs, technologies, and services offered by DOST-PTRI for technology-based business opportunities.
Returned OFW participants have shown interest in the manufacturing of handloom weaving machines, woven fabric production, and natural dyeing, as well as the assistance provided by DOST-PTRI, including equipment, materials, and training.

BAMBOO TEXTILES PH TAKES CENTER STAGE AT A FASHION SHOW IN MALTA, CHAMPIONED BY A FILIPINA DESIGNER

The Bamboo Textiles PH are featured at Montekristo Estate in Malta during the Fashion show entitled “Creative Sustainability through Fashion, A Fusion of Art,” featuring Mayeth S. Codoy, a Filipina designer, and owner of MYET, a Norwegian brand based in Norway that specializes in designing NTF fabrics.
Ms. Codoy's work is anchored in sustainability, influenced by Norwegian culture and economic value. She showcases this through her ingenious use of Philippine natural textile fibers in haute couture fashion. Her signature fashion style includes minimalist contemporary design using natural textile fibers.
