19 UN-WHO STAFF MEMBERS MASTER NATURAL DYEING THROUGH DOST-PTRI TRAINING PROGRAM

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), hosted a workshop on natural dye extraction and textile applications for nineteen (19) staff members from the United Nations-World Health Organization (UN-WHO) held at the United Nations Avenue, Manila, on August 16, 2024.
The said workshop is part of the WHO’s Healing Hearts initiative led by Dr. Susan Mercado, Director of Programme Management, and represented by Dr. Julienne O’Rourke, Technical Officer for Workplace Culture, which centered on promoting workforce well-being and engagement through interpersonal relationships towards attaining health for all.

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) and the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC) have reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the mainstreaming of the Philippine Tropical Fabric (PTF) for government employees' uniforms. This was marked by a ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement and Deed of Donation, followed by a turn-over ceremony of PTF at the CSC Resource Center Building on August 5, 2024.
