The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) participated in the "KAWAYANIHAN: A Circular Economy Movement" press conference today, held at the Ayala Malls Centrio Activity Center, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental. The event, organized by DOST Region 10, focused on the potential of bamboo to promote a circular economy, enhance climate resilience, and foster sustainability in the region.

This initiative, organized by DOST Region 10 on October 17, 2024, highlights bamboo's role in promoting sustainability and environmental resilience.  

The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) recently held the 23rd Textile Research and Development (R&D) Colloquium on October 16, 2024, providing a platform for On-the-Job Training (OJT) students from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in the Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd) major in Garments, Fashion and Design (GFD) program to present their Curriculum Design output, course-related research, and learning. 

On October 17, 2024, the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) hosted the 2nd National General Assembly, gathering 38 educational institutions across the country, along with two international schools. The event, held via Zoom, brought together key representatives from educational institutions specializing in textiles, clothing, fashion, chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science and engineering.
