The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) is making waves at the 2024 National Arts and Crafts Fair (NACF) with its KatHABI Textile Innovation Exposition. Held from October 23 to 27 at Megatrade Halls 1-3 in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City, the exhibit showcases the Institute's latest advancements in textile technology and sustainability. 

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) was recognized for its pivotal role in advancing military textile technology during the 77th Founding Anniversary of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NSSC) on October 23, 2024. The event, held at the Multipurpose Hall of Fort San Felipe, celebrated the NSSC’s achievements and its ongoing service to the Philippine Navy. 

In a significant step towards revitalizing the local textile industry, the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), in collaboration with DOST - Region V and the Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) - Catanduanes, distributed 37 units of Portable Abaca Fiber Stripping Machines, known as "CARAEN," to farmer associations in the municipalities of Baras, Bato, Caramoran, and Pandan, Catanduanes. 

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) is making its mark through a textile exhibition at the 6th Annual Procurement Summit, held from October 21 to 23, 2024, at the Government Procurement Policy Board – Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO) in UP Diliman, Quezon City. This showcase provides a platform to highlight the sustainable and innovative qualities of the Philippine Tropical Fabrics , demonstrating its potential for broader use in public procurement while promoting local industries.
